The Best Summer Outfits For A Business Casual Office

It can be difficult to stay cool and look polished when the weather warms up… so let’s discuss. What are you wearing to work in the office this summer when you are in a casual office? If you work in a more conservative office, what are you wearing this summer? What are your best tips for business casual in the summer for women?

CHOOSE LIGHT AND BREATHABLE FABRICS

Natural fibers such as cotton, silk, and linen will be much more comfortable in summer than Polyester or most synthetic fabrics. Especially if you have to be outdoors for a business event, a bright linen blazer is a million times more comfortable than a black polyester blazer.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT UNDERWEAR

Readers have long been singing the praises of jockey shorts as a great layer to wear under skirts and dresses-and now they are making refreshing shorts, just like the Thigh Society.

Uniqlo’s Airism line also offers a range of underwear, from briefs to bra tops and panties, just like Tommy John’s airline (bras and panties). You can also opt for simple silk underwear that dries incredibly quickly, such as those from Uwila Warrior or Amazon seller SilRiver Mesh is another quick-drying fabric with options ranging from Office to Fruit of the Loom.

You can also buy bra inserts like Wick’em – just slip them under your bra for your commute or a hot girl walk at noon (literally), then discreetly remove the lining once you’re back inside. The result is that the lining sweats, not your bra.

CONFIRM YOUR TRIP

If your morning commute smears your makeup on your face and your hair is limp or frizzy, plan. Switch to waterproof makeup, or if you can, do your makeup at the office. (We haven’t had a good discussion about summer makeup in a long time -Do you have any recent favorites, readers?) Do your hair in a bun or a retracted style when you leave the house.

DO YOU KNOW THE TRICKS TO REFRESH YOURSELF QUICKLY

You can often buy a small noisy fan at the local office supply store for only $15. Although they are not ideal for maintaining a steady and calm breeze in your office, they are perfect if you need to please yourself with a little fresh air when you arrive.

Similarly, I like to take something cold (a can of Soda, or a bottle of water) and put it against the inside of my wrists. I forget the exact reason (pressure point, I think), but it helps to cool you down faster than, for example, putting the Soda can on your forehead. Your left wrist is better!
